Thousands of serious golfers are expected to benefit from the first free to download App offering useful tips on playing the game during the challenging winter months.
The Golf Monthly Winter Golf Tips App in association with Galvin Green is available across a wide variety of digital formats. It covers everything from preparing for tough weather conditions; developing a powerful long game to overcome the lack of run on the fairways; coping with tricky winter lies around the green; putting on slower greens; and how to adjust for a better overall game in cold temperatures.
In total, there are 18 individual video lessons given by Keith Wood, one of Golf Monthly’s Top 25 Coaches and director of the Faldo Golf Academies. The videos are split between six categories: dressing for winter golf with various layers of clothing, driving, approach play, short game, putting and general winter practice drills.
And to mark the arrival of the new App, Galvin Green is offering one lucky viewer the chance to own an outfit like the one worn by Keith Wood, including the Arly GORE-TEX® Paclite® half-zip jacket with stretch inserts and matchingAquilatrousers.
“Winter can be one of the most enjoyable times to play the game as long as you prepare properly and this new App sets out to help serious golfers do just that,” said Neil Tappin, deputy editor of Golf Monthly.
Original footage for the App was filmed in winter conditions back in March this year at The London Golf Club in Kent, where temperatures dropped to near freezing.
Commenting on the thinking behind its involvement, Galvin Green UK Managing Director, Mike Johnson-Hill said: “We are delighted to support Golf Monthly in this innovative project and to be the brand that helps golfers perform well in the harshest of playing conditions with our proven Multi-layer Concept.”
The App will be accessible on iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry smart phones via the Apple store, Blackberry App World and Google Play. Videos from the series can be viewed on YouTube and social media sites Facebook and Twitter.
Details of the new App can be found at both www.golf-monthly.co.uk and www.galvingreen.com.
