New European Tour game is every golfer’s fantasy

The world of fantasy sports games has been taken to new heights with the launch of the new official European Tour fantasy golf game – which offers the chance to win a £10,000 first prize. Europeantourfantasy.com is a new interactive internet-based golf competition that promises to go where no other fantasy game has gone before.
The game, which features a unique points scoring system that is updated every ten minutes, gives players the opportunity to play with and against friends, colleagues, golf club and golf experts for the chance to win a host of glittering weekly and monthly prizes including holidays to Spain, Mauritius, Portugal and Dubai.
The weekly winners will then progress to the end-of-season play-offs for the opportunity to compete for the grand prize – to be played over the four days of the HSBC Champions Tournament in Shanghai, China, from 9-12 November.
Tony Boyle, creator of the new game, said, “I believe this is the most exciting fantasy game there has ever been in golf. Unlike many previous games, which have been based upon results over a season, this operates from week-to-week, is updated constantly and offers real ‘playability’.
“Players have the chance to win some great prizes every tournament and they will then go forward to participate in the end-of-season Champions Final to win the grand prize. And the mini-league option gives them the added bonus of playing against their friends, workmates or for their golf club against other clubs in the United Kingdom.”
The competition launched at The 135th Open Championship last month and entry could not be easier.
Players simply register their details at www.europeantourfantasy.com follow the instructions and select who they think will win that week’s European Tour event together with their winning score.
Players of the new game will score points in three different ways:

But, whereas previous golf games have been team-based and produced around the fantasy football and cricket leagues, the new interactive competition is based on a golfer’s performance during a tournament.
It has been designed for people to use their skill and knowledge to predict a winner before or during an event – and gain instant reward for it.
At the time of time of making a prediction, www.europeantourfantasy.com will offer points based around the likelihood of a player winning a week’s event.
Points for a golfer winning change constantly as a tournament progresses and players can make as many predictions as they like during an event.
But the more likely someone is to win, the less the points will be offered and only the highest-scoring prediction will count towards the leaderboard each week.
Boyle added, “Having looked at all the different fantasy games in the past, I felt there was a niche and gap in the market for something different. With points for players changing every ten minutes, the game operates on many different levels and tactics can even come into play.
“You can either choose your players before a tournament starts or wait for the perfect moment to make your prediction. But the beauty is that, if you do have a bad week, it doesn’t ruin the entire competition for the season and people can start with a clean slate the next week.”
