Pro Shop Europe welcomes a new editor for its March 2005 issue. Paul Trow, an experienced journalist with 25 years of experience working in golf, attended the PGA Merchandise Show as his first assignment for the magazine.
Pro Shop Europe, founded by Robert Fairbairn in 1984, is Europe’s leading golf industry magazine and is read by club professionals all over the UK and the Continent.
Paul’s appointment as editor follows a role-switch for previous editor, Ben Evans, who had been in charge for seven years. Ben will continue as ‘editor-at-large‘ in an advisory capacity, while pursuing other freelance opportunities.
Paul, 51, is a former editor of several magazines, including Golf Weekly, Inside the Tour, Golf News, Corporate Golf, Greenside and Golf Business, during which time his handicap has drifted up from five to 11.4.
“I‘m really looking forward to the challenge as editor of Pro Shop Europe,” said Paul. “This journal is an indispensable read for golf professionals and members of the golf trade. It is thus an important magazine and I relish my new role writing for and about the European golf industry.”
“I‘m quite sure that Paul will make an excellent editor for Pro Shop Europe, bringing 25 years experience and insight of the golfing world to the fore,” said Ben. “I look forward to working with him in the time ahead.”
Paul will also be working on PSE’s sister publication, The Golfers‘ Sourcebook 2005. The Sourcebook is a vital reference tool for all the European golf trade, with a comprehensive A-Z business directory combined with market-leading editorial on the wider golf industry. The Golfers‘ Sourcebook goes to press in March and now is the key time to talk to Paul about inclusion in the book.
