Helping Golf Professionals Fight against Internet Retail

12.10am 16th May 2007 - Media

DMC, the north Wales based company who are becoming more and more well known for their CaddyAid GPS golf product, once again seem to be at the forefront of golf innovation, by providing an amazing software solution for both golf club secretaries and professionals alike.

With this unique software the club officials and the club professional can update all their information entirely on their own. This includes address details, information about the club itself, comprehensive contact details, as well as the names of the heads of departments. The golf club can also update images of the golf club as well as changing their advertising about the club’s attractions, complete with internet links, thus constantly drawing visitors in.

The managing director of DMC David Morris says, “We feel it is vital that golf clubs have access to update whatever information they like about their specific pages from within the site itself. It is their page after all and if they want to change an advert about an open event or a weekend special offer, for example, then why shouldn’t they be able to do so – daily if they wish.”

In addition to this, however, DMC have produced something quite remarkable for the golf club professional. Now, for the first time, using the same software as the office, the pro can promote ALL of their stock on the internet, from a bottle of water right the way through to the latest clubs. All the pro shop has to do is enter the title, description and price of an item and then it will automatically be shown on their page listing within the internet. It really is as easy as that.

Morris continues, “Nothing like this has been available before. For a small fee of less than £2 a week, the club can update and change all of their information, safely and securely, whilst also promoting every item within the pro shop. The software is so easy to use – it really is – and the entire page can be created in minutes, even by someone with very limited computer knowledge.”

Helping the pro even further, DMC will also provide links from the professional’s page on the club’s website to the pro shop page where all the goods are seen, allowing the club pro to further promote their stock and therefore to provide more opportunity for the club pro to make sales.

So now when people look up a golf course of interest, they see a lot more than just the contact details etc. They see a truly live web page, updated by the club themselves, not website designers which takes time and money. The information is timely, relevant and as a result induces high turnover responses from the viewer.

“Our market research told us that independent golf clubs are constantly fighting against high street golf retailers and more recently the internet. Our software provides a platform that promotes their stock in a similar manner and it has been received with enormous enthusiasm. And for £2 a week, who can argue about the price?”

As a company, DMC have arguable the finest golf GPS device in CaddyAid. They also have the dynamic ‘Fairway Flyover’ movies of golf courses in the UK, again to go on to golf club websites, and now they have this amazing software for clubs and pro shops. A fellow journalist recently described DMC as “the fastest growing golf company that you probably have never heard of.” That may still be true, but surely not for much longer.
