‘Golf Monthly’, which was founded in 1911, is undergoing a major re-launch in an attempt to recapture its number one place in the market. The April issue, which goes on sale today, features a fresher and more attractive design intended to attract a broader audience. The title is to be firmly focussed on providing information for golfers of every level of skill and experience which is at the same time user-friendly and full of practical steps on how to improve their game.
The new-look title, which is published by IPC Media, will also include a regional UK course section with pull-out map and a comprehensive equipment section. There will be exclusive instruction from Tiger Woods and Colin Montgomerie, recently signed up as the magazine’s playing editor, will link up with a sporting personality every month to help improve their playing technique.
“The golf market has changed dramatically over the past few years,” says editor Jane Carter, “and so the magazine needs to reflect these shifts. The re-launch will ensure that we attract a wider audience whilst still catering for our traditional core readership. Our aim is to become the magazine that brings every golfer the whole game in one.”
