Golf Monthly launches weekly video equipment blog

8.30am 10th August 2007 - Media

Golf Monthly has launched a new online video series ‘Gear Vault’ that will provide golfers hungry for news of the latest gear with video reviews of equipment about to hit the shelves.

The videos, hosted by GM’s equipment editor Jeremy Ellwood and featuring other members of the Golf Monthly editorial team, will allow visitors to keep track of the hottest releases and often see new products before they feature in the magazine or are available at retail.

The series is supported by Nike Golf for an initial twelve week period and is widely promoted in the magazine and via email broadcasts. Products scheduled for the first month’s coverage include Cobra’s Transition S Integrated irons set, Nike’s SV Tour wedge, the new Cyberstar CP-02 putter from Yonex and Cleveland’s CG12 wedges.

Golf Monthly editor Michael Harris says, “The Gear Vault is an innovative way for us to supplement our coverage of equipment within the magazine and demonstrates not only the depth of knowledge that Jeremy and the team have when it comes to golf equipment but also their ability to work across different media platforms.

“The Gear Vault videos will work alongside another new feature on the website, ‘First Look’, which this week shows exclusive pictures of the new TaylorMade Burner XD irons allowing us to further boost our coverage of the latest equipment and give manufacturers extended exposure for their products.”
