Golf Business receives 2012 EGCOA Media Award

Geoff Russell of Golf Business (That’s me! Ed.) has received the 2012 EGCOA media award in Cannes France at the annual European Golf Business Conference.

EGCOA President Alexander Baron von Spoercken said ‘Since the start of the EGCOA in 2007 the support of the media has played as key role in helping us share our message throughout Europe and around the world.

“We are delighted to give the 2012 EGCOA media award to Geoff Russell of Golf Business who throughout the years has provided unparalleled support of both the EGCOA and global golfing industry.’’

He added ‘’Golf Business News is now one of the leading online media platforms in the industry. We would like to thank Geoff for his on-going support of the EGCOA and look forward to working together into the coming years.’’

Geoff has been involved in the golf business since 1979. A founding member of the British Golf Industry Association, he was the BGIA’s second chairman. A regular conference speaker and contributor to magazines he embraced the ‘digital revolution’ and in 2000, launched ‘Golf Business’ Geoff accepted the award in true Cannes style with an uplifting and entertaining acceptance speech.
