Getty Images, Inc. has renewed and significantly developed its successful partnership with The European Tour with a new five-year agreement as Official Photographer.
Under the terms of the agreement, Getty Images will be the official photographers of The European Tour, the European Senior Tour, the European Challenge Tour and The Ryder Cup, providing comprehensive coverage of all European Tour and European Senior Tour events, as well as all the Major Championships and WGC events.
Getty Images will also be providing extensive coverage of The 2010 Ryder Cup from The Celtic Manor Resort, Wales, one of the highlights of the sporting year.
Through this ground-breaking agreement, European Tour and Ryder Cup promoters, sponsors and suppliers will benefit from agreed rights and access to Getty Images’ unrivalled golf content to promote their involvement with their sponsored events, via Getty Images’ bespoke digital asset management solutions. Getty Images has worked with The European Tour in an official capacity since the early 1990s and is recognized as the world’s premier source for golf photography, in both the editorial and commercial space.
This exclusive agreement will also enable The European Tour to access and incorporate Getty Images’ broad golf content into a wide variety of communication tools, including The European Tour website (www.europeantour.com), and the European Tour Yearbook. The European Tour will also benefit from imagery captured from assignments specifically undertaken by Getty Images, at the request of The European Tour.
Lee Martin, senior vice president, sales Europe & Asia Pacific, Getty Images, commented: “We are delighted to have renewed our agreement as the Official Photographer to The European Tour. Over the last two decades, we have worked extremely closely with The European Tour to capture the very best golf photography to share with the world’s media and our customers. The European Tour is a tremendous success, taking top-class golf to all four corners of the world, and Getty Images is very proud to be an integral part of it.”
Mitchell Platts, Director of Public Relations and Corporate Affairs, European Tour, said: “This extended and enhanced contract further strengthens the Tour’s long and successful partnership with Getty Images and provides valuable and increased opportunities to support our family of sponsors and promoters. Getty Images offer a team of people who are well versed in covering golf and are well known and respected by the Players, Promoters and Sponsors. The quality and consistency of their work is first class.”
