Foremost has signed up leading British consumer golf magazine Golf Monthly to supply content for its weekly Elite Marketing Programme (EMP) newsletters and websites.
To manage the content Foremost has also employed Golf Monthly’s former Staff Writer, Michael Weston, as its Elite Marketing Programme Editor. He joins Foremost from the Football Association, where he was a Social Media Consultant.
Weston will work alongside Foremost’s Promotions Manager Dan Steed and a team of Marketing Editors who will be based at Foremost’s HQ in Slough, under the expert guidance of Publications Manager, Graham Starkey who has extensive experience running the web-based newsletters both in the UK and South Africa.
The decision to move the Foremost newsletter in house has been taken as part of the group’s strategy to take its industry-leading integrated retail and marketing model to the next level.
Golf Monthly will supply a wide range of instruction, equipment testing, videos and generic golf content and it will be featured in the newsletters alongside the personalised material Foremost’s Marketing Editors put together to help Foremost’s EMP professionals promote their retail, demo days, lessons, club repairs and other services.
“We are delighted to announce that we have signed up Golf Monthly to provide the industry leading copy for our weekly EMP newsletters,” said Foremost Company Director, Andy Martin.
“The Golf Monthly material will be managed by our new Digital Editor, Michael Weston, who comes to us having previously worked for Golf Monthly, and it will appear alongside the personalised sales and marketing material our Marketing Editors put together with our EMP professionals.
“Golf Monthly is one of the most respected magazines in the business and its authoritative content can only help to make our weekly EMP newsletters more interesting and informative.” Martin added.
“We envisage that the introduction of the Golf Monthly material will help members to build their databases and that can only be good for their businesses moving forward.”
Golf Monthly Editor Michael Harris believes the agreement will be a big step forward for both companies:
“This agreement is of great importance to Golf Monthly and we’re excited to be working with Foremost. Both companies are market leaders in their sector, and I’m sure we can both learn a lot from each other.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to diversify from our core business and to utilise our extensive experience towards an exciting new project. We’re all eagerly anticipating a fruitful new relationship with the Foremost team, and the fact that we know Michael so well will make the process even smoother.”
To accommodate the new EMP team, Foremost has acquired the adjacent office space to their Slough HQ in a move which will add almost double their existing office capacity.
