A new book from STRI, “Confessions of a Chairman of Green” is written by Malcolm Peake, based upon the author’s personal experiences at Temple Golf Club.

The book is Number 3 in the STRI ecology series Studies in Golf Course Management and deals with serious issues in an enthusiastic and light-hearted manner, making it both enjoyable and easy to read. It shows how environmental good practice can lead to a better and more challenging golf course. It demonstrates great respect for the Greenkeeping profession and describes how to achieve the delicate balance between modern technology and nature.

With full endorsement from the R&A, who wrote the Preface, the book has won widespread support across the industry. Published in full colour, it contains 34 illustrations, including some memorable historic shots, and 6 cartoons by Chris Osborne.

Copies can be ordered via the on-line bookshop STRI www.stri.co.uk price £11.95 plus post and packing.
