BRS Golf, the UK & Ireland’s leading provider of online booking and tee time management systems, has been working with the US-based Golf Channel to launch GolfNow.com, writes Charles de Haan.

GolfNow.com is the Internet’s largest and most successful tee time distribution service, and will be launched initially into the Irish marketplace and then the UK. GolfNow.com joins BRS Golf’s impressive portfolio, called BRS Connect, of tee time distribution partners that are fully integrated with the BRS Golf online tee time management system.

GolfNow.com already offers access to more than 2,500 golf courses in 45 U.S. States and Canada. In 2010 GolfNow.com sold over 4.6m. tee times in the US and has a marketing database of more than 1m. golfers. Through easy-to-implement solutions, GolfNow.com helps golf courses sell more rounds, increase revenues and, in turn, helps grow the game.

The words from the top

Gene Pizzolato, chief operating officer, Golf Channel New Media Ventures, said: “With BRS, we’ve picked the right technology partner to accelerate our success by providing us with the ability to directly connect to the tee-time inventory of over 460 of the best golf courses in Europe.”

“This is a great opportunity for the Irish and UK golf industry to benefit from the marketing power of the Golf Channel,” said Dr. Brian Smith, director of BRS Golf who continues: “We recommend to customers that want to increase revenue to give it a try. Both systems will be fully integrated, so there will be no double bookings and no management overhead. Golf courses will be in complete control of which tee times are available to be sold.”

BRS Connect: the largest distribution network available to golf clubs

All the UK and Ireland’s major tee time distributors, including TeeOffTimes.co.uk (part of GolfBreaks.com) and Online Tee Times, are part of the BRS Connect portfolio. With the Golf Channel, BRS Connect is now the largest distribution network available to golf clubs that want to sell their tee times.

The main benefit of BRS Connect is helping BRS Golf’s customers sell their tee times to the several million golfers who have registered their e-mail addresses with these companies’ databases. These distributors are very pro-active in marketing clubs’ available tee times through to this growing community of pay as you play golfers, a factor that makes all the difference to shifting tee times and turning them into cash.

The online booking market just keeps growing and growing…

According to BRS Golf the demand for online tee time booking shows no sign of reducing. Growth in online tee time booking generally continued to increase at around 25% throughout 2010. For BRS Golf’s customers however, things are even better. Comparing 2009 to 2010, the growth in online booking for BRS Golf’s customers is 60%.

A huge advantage for BRS Golf’s customers

Dr Brian Smith is keen to see BRS Golf’s customers benefiting from the collaboration with GolfNow.com: “Teaming up with the Golf Channel to help them launch GolfNow.com, first in Ireland and later in the UK, is a very exciting venture for BRS Golf.”

“This agreement, along with our recently announced partnership with Club Systems International, means that by exploiting the online opportunities through BRS Golf, our customers will enjoy huge advantages in an increasingly competitive and challenging marketplace.”
