A milestone was reached this week at the R&A Course Management Best Practice website when Kingsbarns Golf Links became the 1000th golf facility to register with the site www.bestcourseforgolf.org
Kingsbarns, situated only 10 miles from St Andrews, is less than 5 years old yet has already gained a reputation as a world-renowned links, particularly in co-hosting the Dunhill Links each October. Now, in registering with the website, its management team will have access to the best available information and guidance on all matters relating to 21st century courses.
Stuart McColm, course manager at Kingsbarns, said, “We are delighted to help The R&A reach this milestone as the website is an invaluable resource for all involved in the development and management of golf courses.”
Steve Isaac, assistant director – golf course management added, “It is a happy coincidence that our 1,000th registration should not only be a prestigious and spectacular links course, but that it should also be so close to St Andrews. Our Golf Course Committee is delighted with the positive response to the website and believe it will continue to go from strength to strength as we develop its content.”
