Vicars Cross Golf Club in Chesire has announced the appointment of Phil Beard as its new General Manager.
Beard brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his new role at the club, which is located four miles weest of Chester and boasts an 18-hole parkland course that first opened in 1939.
Joining from North Wales Golf Club, where he spent seven years, during which time the club was voted Wales Club of the Year. Prior to that he had roles at The Golf Foundation as a regional development officer, and at England Golf as Junior Golf Manager.
A member of the Club Manager’s Association of Europe, Beard has a vision for growth and inclusivity at Vicars Cross. He will be driving the club’s new welcome experience for both new and experienced golfers and creating new opportunities for women to embrace the sport and is keen to introduce juniors to the game. He has a successful track record for all three and for enhancing the course and clubhouse experience.
One of the most anticipated developments under Beard’s leadership is the opening of a new driving range and short game area in 2024. This will offer members and visitors outstanding practice and training facilities.
