Schloss Roxburghe, the 5-star estate and luxury hotel located in the Scottish Borders, has reported a 40% increase in the financial performance of its golf business since it came under the management of IMG’s Golf Course Services division.

Bruno de Schuyter, General Manager at Schloss Roxburghe, said: “Whilst we have been working closely with IMG since 2024, this is the first year in which we have entrusted them with the full management of our golf business.

“This success is testament to the dedication of our club team, and the expertise and hands-on support that IMG has shown across all areas of the business. We now look to 2026 with renewed confidence and belief in the positive impact that golf can continue to make to overall resort performance.”

Central to this success has been Head of Golf Ross Ovens who was promoted by IMG to lead operations at the venue. With more than 25 years’ experience at Schloss Roxburghe, including more than a decade as Golf Course & Estates Manager, Ovens has brought an intrinsic knowledge of the destination into his elevated role, which has been invaluable as the club charts new paths while retaining its celebrated history.

IMG’s operational support, spearheaded by Senior Director Chris Brown, has been central to this transition. Ovens adds: “Moving into a club management role has been a major step, but IMG’s management team have been with me every step of the way. This truly has been a collaborative effort and is just a start  as we continue to bring more golfers from across the globe to experience our incredible golf course and estate.”

This recent period has been one of the most transformative periods in the destination’s history. In addition to the building of 51 cottages across the property, a full renovation and extension of the hotel – including 58 new contemporary bedrooms and suites – and the creation of a new spa, SCHLOSS Roxburghe have also invested heavily in the golf course, including the building of a new greenkeeping facility. The club has also added a new TopTracer driving range, complete with covered bays and a dedicated teaching space, which is open to members, hotel guests and visitors.

Commenting on the success, IMG Golf Course Services VP Russell Hannah said: “We have long known the potential of the business at Schloss Roxburghe and the transition to full management has allowed us to deploy the full power of IMG to ensure its success. From improving booking processes and online presence, to instilling new services standards and sales structures, we have empowered the team to drive success, and we couldn’t be prouder  of what has been achieved in this first year.”

SCHLOSS Roxburghe, located near Kelso in the Scottish borders, is a ‘Destination by Hyatt‘ venue, a moniker given to a select handful of Hyatt hotels across the world who exude excellence and individualism throughout the property.
