R&A supports BIGGA Environment Competition

Thanks to continued support from the R&A, the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Golf Environment Competition will take place again this year. The national prize winner receives £4,000

Thanks to continued support from the R&A, the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Golf Environment Competition will take place again this year. Golf courses will be judged on their commitment to environmental management and assessed on the following “Committed to Green” criteria:

  • Nature Conservation
  • Landscape and Cultural Heritage
  • Water Resource Management
  • Turfgrass and Pest Management
  • Waste management
  • Energy Efficiency and Purchasing Policies
  • Education and Training
  • Communications
  • Public Access and Awareness

The national prize winner will receive £4,000, a trophy and a plaque to display in the clubhouse. There are also prizes for regional winners and certificates of commendation. Further details about the competition are available from BIGGA.
