PGA One Golf Network announce partnership with Golf Tourism England

5.26pm 22nd September 2018 - Management Topics

PGA One Golf Network, the new golf club marketing, golfer loyalty programme and tee time distribution company, has formed a partnership with Golf Tourism England that will encourage greater growth of visitor income into English golf clubs and greater involvement for PGA Professionals in the organising and promotion of golf travel.

The move will see additional member benefits, improved digital capabilities through the GTE website, development of the established 37 Golf Tours in England, bookable inventory and enhanced offers, all designed to aid the promotion of England, both domestic and internationally, as a key destination for golf travel.

The communication channels of PGA One Golf Network will enable GTE to showcase the outstanding variety and quality of English golf clubs to a much broader audience and help stimulate greater activity.

Add in PGA Professionals, and the expertise and customer experience enhancements they can bring to the offer, and the combination of the ‘brands’ will help deliver focus on tourism, and more generally visitor income, as a key revenue stream for English golf clubs.

Andrew Cooke, the founder of GTE, commented; “I’m delighted to be partnering with PGA One Golf Network. They are an ideal partner for GTE, as we will have access to their technology, marketing expertise and a network of PGA Professionals working with us to develop the golf tourism product in England.

“This is a hugely positive evolution for all the leading golf club, resort managers who had the vision to support the development of an organisation committed to the bigger picture of promoting England as a golf destination”.

Robert Maxfield, Chief Executive of the PGA, said, “I am delighted that PGA One Golf Network has agreed a partnership with Golf Tourism England. Working together will allow golf facilities and PGA Professionals to grow tourism which is so important to the golf business, providing value and great customer experience rather than just discounted golf.”

Jane Carter, Director of PGA One Golf Network, said: “This is a mutually beneficial partnership as it brings together the best in ‘brands’ across this sector. We are pleased to be the marketing and operational arm of GTE and look forward to engaging with a fantastic array of golf clubs that make England a golf destination to be proud of.”

GTE has seen a major boost in interest since being awarded financial support from Visit Britain’s Discover England Fund, and their partnership with PGA One Golf Network will enable the acceleration of activities and position England as a leading golf destination. There is an increasing demand from golfers, particularly in Scandinavia and the USA, to play golf in England, and the partnership will focus on marketing and supporting an excellent visitor experience, as the PGA Club Professional is the key point of visitor contact.
