North Foreland Golf Club in Kent has announced the appointment of Gary Ivory as its new General Manager.
With an extensive background in the golf industry, Ivory brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his new role. Having dedicated the majority of his career to the golf industry, Ivory has previously served at various venues, including the Stockley Park group, where he managed multiple sites, as well as Hainault, Hendon, Woldingham, and Harleyford golf clubs.
Speaking at his new role at one of Kent’s most popular clubs, Ivory said: “From the moment I learnt about this opportunity from Legacy Golf Advisors, I knew it was what I wanted to do next in my career. I have been out of club management for a few years and really wanted to get back to looking after members and delivering a great experience for members and their guests.
“North Foreland is a great club, in a great location with two great courses. The Northcliffe is simply wonderful. To have the opportunity to work with a stunning 18-hole par 3 course is unique alongside a very impressive championship course.”
Richard Keel, Chair of North Foreland, expressed his confidence in the appointment, stating, “The Board and I are excited to have been able to attract someone with Gary’s experience and expertise to the club. We believe he is the right fit to take North Foreland forward, and throughout the interview process, he impressed us with how he would tackle this. The club has an exciting future, and we look forward to Gary leading us on this journey.”
This appointment marks the latest milestone in the partnership between North Foreland and Legacy Golf Advisors.
LGA’s Stuart Gillett, commenting on the appointment, remarked: “We are delighted to have been able to recruit Gary for the GM role at North Foreland. Following the insights and strategic vision work we carried out with the Club in 2022, we have an understanding of what is needed by the Club, and this helped us in presenting a strong candidate list to the Club. We look forward to maintaining an ongoing relationship with the Club that I am sure will continue to move forward under Gary’s leadership.”
