NGCOA Partners with ORCA to Improve Data Intelligence

The National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) has partnered with The ORCA Report (ORCA) to offer ORCA golf course and geographic market benchmarking reports to NGCOA members at a discount through its Smart Buy purchasing program.

ORCA has been providing occupancy, revenue, channel mix, and average rate per round information for golf courses since January 2016. The ORCA Report is being used by more than 275 golf courses in the Southwest, Northwest, Midwest, and Northeast and is rapidly expanding to other markets. This partnership will provide discounts on ORCA reporting to NGCOA member courses across the U.S.

“It’s encouraging that the NGCOA is taking this step forward in the area of rounds and revenue benchmarking,” says Mike Loustalot, Co-Founder and President of ORCA. “The NGCOA recognizes golf has a data problem and based on the feedback we are receiving from our existing subscribers, I know it won’t be long until all markets see the benefit that a confidential, anonymous and validated rounds and revenue report brings.”

“Providing accurate data to golf course owners, and helping them understand how to utilize the data, will help bring clarity to the relationship with their golfers, technology/marketing partners, and competitors to support business decisions that improve their bottom line,” said Jay Karen, NGCOA CEO. “ORCA has created the most sophisticated tools we have seen and we are thrilled to partner with them.”

Mike Loustalot, will present an educational session at National Golf Course Owners Association Golf Business TechCon, September 27-28, 2017 in Las Vegas. This is a two-day event for golf course owners, operators and other industry professionals which will spotlight some of the cutting-edge tools and tactics currently transforming golf course operations.

Loustalot’s presentation, “Technology and Your Top Line,” will focus on how actual, validated, and normalized data from participating golf courses helps each golf course professionally forecast expected demand and optimize green fee revenue. A golf marketing and technology solutions expert for the past 25 years, Loustalot will engage attendees with easy-to-understand, real-example stories, which brings these opportunities to life.

“The golf operations world is changing rapidly, and it’s critical to help golf course owners and operators simply understand how to harness their existing demand and grow green fee revenue,” said Loustalot. “In markets where ORCA currently operates, golf course operators are demonstrating an unprecedented level of cooperation, translating to increased revenues.”
