Later this spring the EGU will be welcoming chair of green and golf course owners to a seminar covering aspects of course and general management. The new event, organised by Golf Services, is on 27th and 28th May at the National Golf Centre Woodhall Spa. The programme will follow a similar format to the successful Greenkeeping Masterclass series with a host of expert speakers. Among the well known names taking part are golf course architect, Simon Gidman, chairman of BIGGA,-Andy Campbell and agronomist Andy Cole.
The aims of the programme are:
- to look at the role the Chair of Green/ Course Owner in relation to the Course Manager or Head Greenkeeper
- to update delegates on the latest developments/issues in greenkeeper training, health & safety and climate change
- to debate often-controversial subjects – tree management, course remodelling, green speeds.
The cost of the seminar is £100 plus VAT which includes overnight accommodation and an option to play golf after the seminar. Invitations have been sent to all affiliated clubs and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
