Golf Club Management Degree by Distance Learning

9.19am 13th May 2022 - Management Topics

The BA (Hons) degree in Golf Club Management, created in partnership with The Cornwall College Group, CMM Golf Recruitment and the Golf Club Managers’ Association, has launched the programme by distance learning. Starting in September, the new format will enable those already working within the industry the opportunity to study the highest level of qualification in the subject.

Using Microsoft Teams, lectures will take place twice a week during term time, over a 37-week schedule per academic year. The programme has been designed to meet the needs of the contemporary golf club business, covering subjects including golf operations, managing hospitality, developing & managing people and golf course design, construction & maintenance.

Unlike all other golf-based degree programmes, there is no minimum playing ability level required. In addition, experience working in golf clubs in lieu of formal academic qualifications will be considered favourably in the application process.

Talking of the new delivery format, Alex Lindsay, Head of Campus – Golf at Cornwall College, says, “It was clear when we first announced this new degree programme last year that there is a massive appetite for it amongst current golf club employees and managers. Delivering it by distance learning makes the qualification very achievable while also working full-time.”

The degree team are holding a number of virtual open events during May, where interested candidates can learn more about the degree as well as learn how the new distance learning delivery model can fit with full time employment.

Initial open event dates are:

Tuesday 17th May – 7pm to 8.30pm

Saturday 21st May – 9am to 10.30am
