The English Golf Union (EGU) and English Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) are offering golf clubs continued funding to support their coaching programmes in 2008. The funding is available via two grants namely the Junior Club Coaching Grant and the Free Golf Coaching Grant.

The Junior Club Coaching Grant provides clubs with £150 to support the development of junior golfers, both members and non-members, through structured coaching lessons.

The Free Golf Coaching Grant provides clubs with £200 to attract newcomers to the game through beginners’ taster sessions.

Further funding of £50 is available to golf clubs who offer both junior and beginner sessions and, in addition, those golf clubs who have achieved GolfMark/Clubmark accreditation will receive an additional £100 per initiative.

Application forms and information have been distributed to all affiliated golf clubs and online application forms are also available form the EGU website, www.englishgolfunion.org/jccg and www.englishgolfunion.org/fgc

The Junior Club Coaching and Free Golf Coaching Grants are initiatives jointly provided by the EGU and EWGA via England Golf’s ‘Whole Sport Plan’ for golf and are an integral part of England Golf’s vision to ‘Grow the Game’.
