GCA announces July 2008 Roadshow

8.55am 10th July 2008 - Management Topics

The Golf Consultants Association has announced the first 2008 date for its popular series of ‘Profit from Golf’ roadshow-style networking events.

Five Lakes Hotel, Golf, Country Club and Spa – near Colchester, Essex – will host the opening 2008 GCA Roadshow on Thursday, 31st July.

Supported once again by Ransomes Jacobsen EZGO, the events provide opportunities both to network with other industry professionals, and to enjoy a series of presentations on current issues affecting the business of golf.

The GCA launched its Roadshow format in 2007 and Ian Bulleid, chairman of the GCA said: “The positive feedback from delegates and our sponsor has encouraged us to repeat the exercise this year.

“Hosting regular, regionally-based events has proved to be a very popular and cost-effective way to give golf operators access to important and useful information, which they can take back and use in their own business.”

The first event promises to reveal ten low-cost golf club marketing tips, plus presentations on making your facility’s assets work harder, attracting golf tourists, how clubs can access funding to boost junior golf, and managing water resources.

Priced at just £40 including lunch, the Roadshow lasts half a day, reducing the time delegates need to spend away from their businesses. Delegates will also meet several members of the Golf Consultants Association team, who will be on hand to dispense free on-the-spot advice on a variety of issues.

It is going to be a busy few months for the GCA, a group of independent golf consultants who have been providing successful solutions to golf-related problems for clients throughout the UK and Europe for over a decade.

With a new website about to be launched, several recent new members and further roadshows planned later in the summer and autumn, the Association is going from strength to strength.

Ian added, “It’s an exciting time for us. Although things are generally getting harder for all golf businesses, we are well placed to help clients through this difficult time.”
