RetailTribe’s vision to create ‘rainmakers’ for the industry has taken a massive leap forward in the last few months. The vision entails Golf Facilities having a focused revenue plan that integrates their PGA Professionals into restoring the critical numbers in the game.
The PGA of America, the PGA of Southern Africa and now the PGA of Great Britain have all partnered RetailTribe to increase the support to PGA Professionals willing to embrace the opportunity to be ‘rainmakers’” for the Golf Industry. These partnerships are intended to deliver greater job security, improved sales and a healthier golf industry.
“Our partnership with the PGA of America will support the development of “rainmaker” education for not just PGA Professionals, but also General Managers and other key industry influences,” announced Ian James, CEO, RetailTribe. “We need everyone to be operating from the same philosophy (‘we need more, golfers playing more golf’) and the same game plan (‘creating more engagement with golfers at the Golf Facility’) and a single set of education and best practice guides will provide a great platform”.
That education and the best practice built by RetailTribe for the US industry will be made available to all PGA and Industry Professionals in Great Britain and Southern Africa courtesy of the partnership with the PGA’s in those territories.
The partnership with the PGA of Great Britain will support the development of “rainmaker” marketing plans and supporting marketing assets that will be made freely available to all PGA Professionals in the United Kingdom.
“We want to supply all PGA Professionals with the means to implement a ‘Revenue Plan’ that will slow the losses (of golfers); increase the number of rounds played per golfer; recover lost golfers; and accelerate the creation of new golfers” continued James. “Those are the key results that almost every Golf Facility in the United Kingdom needs from their PGA Professional. Adding to the number of golfers and the amount of golf played will also drive Equipment, Coaching and Shop revenues which is very important to everyone who makes a living from the sales in those areas”.
Ian Lee, Haigh Hall Golf Complex is an example of a PGA Professional successfully adopting the ‘rainmaker’ philosophy for the benefit of his business and the Facility. “I first approached Ian James at RetailTribe when the financial position of the Golf operations at our Council Facility threatened my position. Since then, the direct advice I have received from Ian James has been influential and invaluable in not only securing my immediate future but has turned things around in a way that has also elevated my role as the PGA Professional”.
