Clubs register for R&A guidelines

Nearly 400 clubs from around the world have registered to receive the R&A’s on-line guidelines for course management best practice

The R&A’s Golf Course Committee has announced that, six weeks after it was launched, nearly 400 clubs have registered on the new website www.bestcourseforgolf.org. These have come from 42 different countries as far a field as China, Uruguay, Macedonia and Namibia.
“We are delighted with the initial registration from clubs around the world and are now looking to expand these numbers,” said Steve Isaac, assistant director of golf course management at the R&A.
“All clubs have been positive with their feedback after logging into the system and that message will now encourage further interest from clubs governed by our 127 affiliated federations and unions.”
The site provides ‘Best Practice Guidelines’ for course management; promoting environmental and ecological care; coordinating research into reducing chemical use; adapting to the consequences of climate change; conserving water and placing the game of golf in the forefront of exemplary community planning.
Clubs or national governing bodies anywhere in the world wishing to register should log on to www.bestcourseforgolf.org
