City centre success for EGU & ELGA

To coincide with almost 200 golf clubs offering golf taster sessions, over 2,000 juniors and adults have received a free golf lesson in a mobile golf unit that has been touring city centres in England during the summer months

The English Golf Union and English Ladies‘ Golf Association continually strive to develop and enhance their grass roots initiatives and the 2004 free golf coaching campaign has been no exception.
To coincide with almost 200 golf clubs offering free golf taster sessions, a mobile golf unit has been touring England during the summer months. With the support of Swingtech and local PGA professionals, thousands of people have experienced golf in Plymouth, Nuneaton, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Derby and Peterborough with hundreds more receiving information on how to ‘Get into Golf‘.
Complete statistics from the 2004 ‘FREE‘ golf coaching campaign will be published in November, including total participation figures and the percentage of beginners who continue to be involved in golf.
