Chart Hills Golf Club in Biddenden, Kent, has announced the launch of a new category of membership, Intermediate 2, which is specifically aimed at 25-30-year-olds. At £125 per month, or £1,500 annually, the membership is both cheaper and more flexible than the standard membership, and it has been introduced to increase the number of golfers in an age group that Chart Hills feels to be traditionally underrepresented.

As well as encouraging new golfers in the 25-30-year-old category, Chart Hills hopes Intermediate 2 memberships will reignite the interest for those who used to play, and, for one reason or another, now do not. A full seven day annual membership is usually £2,214, meaning the new membership offers a significant reduction to those in this age group, and increases the viability of them pursuing golf.

David Colyer, General Manager of Chart Hills Golf Club, comments, “Most people between 25 and 30 are beginning their careers, buying their first homes, getting married or starting families. If they played golf as juniors it is very likely that their golf takes a back seat during this period, or if they are new to golf they may feel intimidated that they are just starting out. We want these young men and woman to be able to participate in the sport and feel comfortable doing so.”

Chart Hills already has a strong commitment towards encouraging junior golfers below the age of 18, and has recently extended its Intermediate membership from 22 to 25 years of age. The club supports 80 junior members at all levels by subsidising the cost of their membership and teaching. Chart Hills is also aided by ‘Golf Mark’, a national scheme aimed at developing the talents of junior players via appropriate levels of coaching and competition.

The Intermediate 2 membership is £125 per month, and £1,500 annually, including VAT. Chart Hills PGA Coach, Anthony Froom, will also be reducing the price of his lessons for Intermediate 2 members. Anthony can be contacted on, and Sarah Saunders can be contacted on for more information regarding the Intermediate 2 membership.

Chart Hills is the British architectural debut of six times major-winner Sir Nick Faldo. Set on 200 acres of gently undulating hills, the club was officially opened in August 1993 and is recognised within the professional golfing community as one of the foremost venues in the country.
