The first study into golf in South East Asia, titled “A View of Golf in South East Asia” was launched at the Asia Pacific Golf Summit last week. The report is a joint project of the Club Managers Association of Asia Pte Ltd and Golf Business Advisory Services (GBAS) and presented by the Asia Pacific Golf Group.
At the launch, the author of the report Jeff Blunden of GBAS walked the delegates through the level of global information currently available, demonstrating that based on the level of development experienced in the last 10 years, the ASEAN region is significantly un-informed compared to each of the other major world markets.
The report provides a 360 degree view of golf in South East Asia, looking at development, operations and the consumer and provides indicators as to current industry trends and outcomes in each of these areas.
“This is only the beginning and we expect to see more developments in the area of market research being conducted and made available to the golf industry at large,” said Mike Sebastian, chief executive officer of the Asia Pacific Golf Group.
The inaugural report is being made available to all interested parties and can be downloaded at this link: http://www.asiapacificgolfgroup.com/go/asiangolfsurvey
