Van Tri Golf Club will play host to this month’s Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) Turfgrass Management Education Seminar.
Presented by the AGIF and supported by The R&A, the two-day event – May 25-26 – will feature high-profile keynote speakers as well as a field day at which a variety of companies will display their new products.
Gold sponsors for the event are Jacobsen and Toro while Foley United, Rain Bird and Witgang are Silver sponsors.
John Holmes, a member of the AGIF’s Education Committee, said: “We are delighted to be staging this event in Hanoi and offer our appreciation to the management at Van Tri Golf Club and all those who have worked so hard to make this possible.
“Education is one of the core pillars of the AGIF and bringing events such as this to emerging golfing nations in our region is immensely satisfying.
“In recent years, Vietnam has seen the development of several dozen golf courses and it’s encouraging to see more Vietnamese greenkeepers playing such a crucial role in ensuring good playing conditions.
“It is the specific aim of this AGIF Turfgrass Management Education Seminar in Hanoi to support the country’s greenkeepers and course superintendents by providing them with the type of knowledge that will enable them to grow and develop.”
Day one will tee-off with a presentation entitled Communicating Maintenance Programmes with Members by Bruce Williams, International Marketing Manager, Brandt Consolidated and a Past President of the GCSAA.
That will be followed by a two-part talk on Irrigation Efficiency and Maintenance with presenters Chris Gray, Area Manager – Southeast Asia, Golf, Rain Bird, and Andrew Price, Toro’s Sales Manager – Southeast Asia and New Zealand.
The focus will then turn to turfgrass and machinery with Brad Burgess, Managing Director, Sports Turf Solutions, talking about Qualities and Benefits of Zoysia Grass and Michael He, Bernhard’s China National Sales Manager, arguing for Better Grass Less Money.
The afternoon will be dedicated to the Field Day with equipment displays and demonstrations taking place at Van Tri’s Driving Range.
