Troon, a globally recognised leader in golf and club-related leisure services, has been appointed to manage Al Mouj Golf in Oman.

The alliance will see Troon International deliver comprehensive management of agronomy, marketing and operations at the Muscat-based venue, which boasts an 18-hole championship course designed by Greg Norman.

Troon International, with its rich portfolio of world-class courses such as The Els Club Dubai and Al Zorah Golf Club in the UAE, Royal Golf Club Bahrain, and Muscat-based golf clubs, brings a wealth of regional knowledge. This alliance offers AMG club members access to Troon’s impressive network of regional and international courses, while attracting Troon’s extensive golfer community to AMG, fostering enriched experiences for both communities.

Nasser bin Masoud Al Sheibani, CEO of Al Mouj Golf, said: “We are excited to embark on this journey with Troon International. With their unparalleled expertise in golf management and resort excellence, they stand as an ideal partner for Al Mouj Golf’s vision and aspirations. This strategic alliance marks Al Mouj’s ongoing commitment to further enhance our offerings, providing our members and guests with an extraordinary golfing experience. We are confident that this collaboration will elevate Al Mouj Golf to even greater heights and cement its position as a leader in the world of golf.”

DJ Flanders, Executive Vice President of Troon International, commented: “Utilizing our wealth of expertise in golf management and resort excellence, this appointment with Al Mouj Golf is set to unlock the full potential of this remarkable destination. Collaboratively, our goal is to build upon its already esteemed reputation to ensure the club preserves its status as one of the world’s premier golf destinations.”

Al Mouj Golf, which occupies a 2km coastal stretch that looks over the Gulf of Oman, has served as the venue for several professional tournaments stretching back to 2014, most notably hosting the European Tour’s NBO Open in 2018 and The Asian Tour’s International Series Oman in 2023. It will host the same event from February 22-25 in 2024.
