AGIF Launches Educational Webinar Series

10.40am 4th September 2020 - Management Topics

As part of its adaptation to the evolving environment, the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) is embarking upon a series of webinars for both turf and club management professionals.

Under the ‘AGIF Sustainability Series’ banner, the webinars will feature respected speakers and presenters from around the world, all experts in their given fields.

Dr Larry Ross will present the first instalment of the Asian Golf Industry Federation’s Sustainability Series

The Series will tee-off on September 10 with a presentation from Dr Larry Ross, Professor Emeritus at Florida Southern College on Food Service Health and Safety Protocols During the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Organic Matter Management on the Putting Surface is the subject that will be tackled on September 17 by Roch Gaussoin, PhD, Professor and Extension Co-ordinator, Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

On September 24, the topic for Michael Braidwood, General Manager at Qatar’s Education City Golf Club, a Facility Member of the AGIF, is What Gets Measured Gets Done.

Concluding the first batch of AGIF webinars on Thatch/Biomass Management Techniques for Greens will be Roger Goettsch, CGCS, Director of Golf Course Operations at California’s Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club.

Eric Lynge, the AGIF’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “The intention is to maintain a consistent schedule of online education, community and learning which can also be continued and combined with our traditional event-based education when we resume travel and onsite events.

“In addition to these consistent webinars we will also run special events as well as studying the viability of half-day to whole-day education with virtual exhibition space.”

Attendees will be eligible for education credits with AGIF Education Affiliate partners – Club Management Association of America (CMAA), Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), PGA of America, PGA of Great Britain and Ireland and PGA of Australia.
