The inaugural Golf Course Superintendents Association of Malaysia [GCSAM] and Asian Golf Industry Federation [AGIF] Turfgrass Management Seminar will tee-off a hectic end-of-year schedule for the region’s umbrella golfing body.

Organised under the auspices of the Malaysian Golf Association, the September 7-8 seminar at award-winning Kota Permai Golf and Country Club is open to all golf course managers, course superintendents, club managers, greenskeepers and mechanics who want to learn more about the latest in golf course development.

Eric Lynge, the AGIF’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “With education being one of the core elements of the Federation in 2015, we are committed to raising the profile and standard of turfgrass maintenance in the Asian region through events such as this.

“In total, we will be putting on eight Turfgrass Management Seminars and Field Days in eight different countries this year – testament to the backing we have received from sponsors and delegates.”

As well as a Superintendent Volunteer Education Programme at Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club in early March, the first quarter saw the ever-popular Turfgrass Management Expo return to Pattaya.

There was also the Philippine Golf Course Management Conference at Orchard Golf and Country Club and the Hanoi Turfgrass Management Education Seminar at Van Tri Golf Club.

Following the Kota Permai gathering, further turfgrass management seminars are due to take place in Indonesia [September 29-October 1], Taiwan [October 19-20] and Foshan in China [October 25-30].

Additionally, the AGIF is a Partner of the HSBC Golf Business Forum, to be held at the Pudong Shangri La Hotel in downtown Shanghai from November 1-4.
