Arccos publishes Driver Distance report

9.00am 6th November 2024 - Innovation Centre

Arccos, a leader in AI-powered golf performance tracking, has released its annual Driver Distance Report, showcasing insights drawn from the company’s extensive on-course dataset.

The latest report explores data captured in 2023, a year in which Arccos saw nearly 4 million rounds played with its system by hundreds of thousands of golfers in 162 countries. For that period, the average driving distance for men was 225 yards, while women averaged 178 yards.

Interestingly, distances have remained quite stable over the past six years, increasing one yard for men and decreasing 1.1 yards for women compared to Arccos data in 2018.

As in previous years, the Arccos Distance Report also explores the impact of age and skill level. While not isolated in this report, other factors likely to significantly impact driver shot distance include course set-up, weather conditions, player fitness and equipment.

Arccos has built golf’s largest on-course dataset. Today that includes more than 850 million shots and 1.5 trillion data points recorded during nearly 18 million rounds played by Arccos members.

The system, which consists of a sensor in each club grip that pairs with a mobile app, is trusted by amateurs and elite players worldwide. Its official partners include PGA TOUR, PING, Cobra PUMA Golf, TaylorMade, Srixon-Cleveland Golf, Club Champion, EA Sports and Golf Digest.
