Recently restructured from the UK Golf Course Owners Association, the UK Golf Federation are key to growing golf participation through their proprietary golf courses and driving range members and will use their unique position in the marketplace to work towards increasing growing golf through their “open access to golf” facilities.
With over 800 proprietary golf courses and many more driving ranges, these are for many the first access to trying golf and the UK Golf Federation look to be part of the way forward in developing new golfers.
Representing the ‘independent golfer’ who wants to be free to play a variety of courses and who does not necessarily see their golf as a full member, the UK Golf Federation will promote new initiatives to give open access for this key sector of the market to try golf in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Doug Poole, recently appointed CEO for the UKGF, said: “We already have a large membership of golf clubs which is growing all the time through our Premier and Free Venue membership programmes, and we will find new initiatives for our members to be the first and key part for trying golf.” Contact Doug via doug.pooleukgf@gmail.com
