9.41am 1st June 2020 - Growing the Game

Club management company Troon is celebrating International Virtual Women’s Golf Day by delivering 24 hours of virtual instruction and education on Instagram Live @Troon.

Troon associates from around the world, as well as ‘Team Troon’ ambassador Cheyenne Woods, will be hosting 24 golf and fitness clinics.

Programming will be introduced by Troon’s Global Director of Education Tim Mahoney at 8.30pm EST on June 1 from the Mountain Course at Cordillera in Colorado. At the top of each hour, beginning at 9pm EST with Beth Holdsworth at Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club in Australia, instruction and education will focus on a variety of topics, including fitness, putting, health, yoga and more.

The schedule will then move across the world, taking in sessions from clubs in Malaysia, Dubai, England (The Grove and Centurion), Scotland (Dumbarnie Links), Egypt, and throughout the USA, before finishing at 8pm in Canada.

“As a global leader in golf and club management, we wanted to take International Virtual Women’s Golf Day to the next level and engage as many Troon Associates and ambassadors as we could from around the world,” said Tim Schantz, president and CEO, Troon. “We sincerely hope golfers and non-golfers alike will tune-in to Instagram Live to learn more about the game and celebrate girls and women playing golf.”

International Women’s Golf Day is an annual event celebrating girls and women playing golf and learning the skills that last a lifetime. 2020’s Virtual Women’s Golf Day on June 2 is a collaborative effort by organisations all working together to engage, empower and support girls and women through golf.
