Treetop Adventure Golf, Wales’ first indoor mini-golf attraction, has announced plans to open a second site as it celebrates its first birthday.

Owners Elizabeth Perrin and Chris Richards are currently looking into possible sites at key shopping centres and leisure parks across the UK, and hope to secure the next location by the end of the year.

Following a £1.5 million investment, Treetop opened in April 2015 on level P3 of St David’s shopping centre, with two rainforest themed 18-hole courses spanning across the 15,000 sq ft unit.

Since opening its doors, more than 90% of TripAdvisor reviewers have rated Treetop as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’, and the attraction is ranked at number two on the ‘Fun Activities and Games’ list of things to do in Cardiff.

The courses’ top scorers include Michael Smith, who scored 29 and is a member of the British Minigolf Association (BMGA), and David Price, who has scored 30 three times. Over the last year, around 1 in 15 players have conquered the challenging 19th hole to win a free round of mini-golf.

Since launching last April, Treetop has hosted a number events, including the first ever Welsh Open with the BMGA, and welcomed members of the All Blacks during last year’s Rugby World Cup in an event hosted by their sponsors AIG.

Co-founder and CEO of Treetop Adventure Golf, Elizabeth Perrin, said: “The idea for Treetop was a long time in the making, and it’s been so rewarding to see all that planning becoming a reality since we opened our doors last April.

“We’ve already started investing further into Treetop with a new coloured lighting system, and visitors can now listen to Canopy FM in our toilets. We’re also concentrating on our birthday and corporate packages at the moment, as we want to be able to offer our customers the best possible experience at Treetop.

“Although Treetop in Cardiff will always be out flagship site, we’re fortunate enough to be in a position to expand the business, and we’re currently looking into possible locations for a second venue in the south east of England and further north. This is a fantastic opportunity to take themed adventure golf to other cities in the UK and beyond, which was something that we aspired to from the beginning of the venture.”

Treetop Adventure Golf celebrated its first birthday with treats and prizes, face painting, and free giveaways.
