Titleist putting shotTitleist, the #1 ball in golf, has renewed its highly supportive relationship with the Golf Foundation for 2014. The partnership plays a key role in the leading golf charity’s national ‘HSBC Golf Roots’ programme, which works to make the sport more accessible for young people from different backgrounds and circumstances.

Titleist has been a long-term supporter of the Golf Foundation’s commitment to giving children and young people the opportunity to experience golf and the benefits it has to offer.

This year, Titleist will provide golf balls that will be used in major Foundation events and promotional activities involving schools and communities.

HSBC Golf Roots reaches hundreds of thousands of youngsters a year from the classroom to the lesson tee at golf clubs. The scheme’s Ambassadors include Titleist Pro V1x loyalist Lee Westwood, Solheim Cup winning Captain Alison Nicholas and former European Tour player and respected broadcaster Ken Brown.

Mike Round, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, said: “We believe that Titleist’s vision in supporting golf at the junior grass roots level and therefore helping the next generation to come into the game is a great thing. This support of our HSBC Golf Roots programme in schools, communities and in our golf clubs is highly commendable.

“Our team of highly enthusiastic regional officers is seeking to train more teachers, sports officers and volunteers to work with PGA Professionals and bring more youngsters through to clubs ready for regular play. Working with Titleist and our other key partners, we can reach many more youngsters together in 2014.”

Matthew Johnson, Titleist Brand Director, said: “Titleist is delighted to be supporting the Golf Foundation’s ‘Golf Roots’ initiative during 2014. As the #1 ball in golf, we see this as a great opportunity to educate these avid young golfers on the importance of the golf ball as a piece of equipment and how selecting the correct golf ball will help them to shoot lower scores. Furthermore, the reasons why the overwhelming majority of the world’s best players trust a Titleist golf ball are the exact same reasons as to why they should also play Titleist.”
