The Golf Foundation has announced that former DP World Tour professional Oli Fisher as a new ambassador.
Following a long-standing association with the Golf Foundation, Fisher’s appointment reflects his continued commitment to using golf as a force for good – particularly through his work supporting young people and developing inclusive opportunities at Centurion Club, where he is the Head Professional.
Fisher, 37, enjoyed a highly successful professional career, competing on the European Tour, and making history in 2018 by recording the first-ever round of 59 on the Tour at the Portugal Masters. He has also become a familiar face to golf fans through his appearances on Sky Sports golf coverage, where he regularly appears alongside Golf Foundation President Nick Dougherty.
Born in Chingford, Fisher’s journey in the game began at Crowlands Golf Club in Dagenham under PGA Coach Chris Jenkins, before progressing as a member at West Essex Golf Club. His talent was evident from a young age, winning the Faldo Series three times between 2003 and 2005, and being recognised as one of the leading prospects of his generation under the guidance of Nick Faldo.
He went on to represent England and Europe with distinction, including victories in the European Boys’ Team Championship and the Junior Ryder Cup, before becoming the youngest player to compete in the Walker Cup in 2005.
Now based at Centurion Club, Fisher plays a central role in engaging young people with the game, creating welcoming environments, and supporting initiatives that combine golf with personal development, confidence-building, and wellbeing.
Through his ambassador role, Fisher will work closely with the Golf Foundation to help drive the impact of leading programmes Unleash Your Drive in Clubs and Schools, as well as GolfSixes League.
This partnership also marks a powerful continuation of the Golf Foundation’s long-standing relationship with Centurion Club. In 2017, the Hertfordshire-based club hosted the original GolfSixes concept event, helping to launch what has since become one of the Golf Foundation’s flagship participation programmes.
Today, GolfSixes League engages young people through fun, team-based competition and community-focused delivery, and in 2025 alone reached more than 9,000 junior golfers nationwide. Oli’s ambassador role reflects the shared commitment between the Golf Foundation and Centurion Club to grow the game in accessible, inclusive, and inspiring ways.
Fisher said: “I’m honoured to become an official Ambassador for the Golf Foundation. From my early days as a junior to my career as a tour professional, I’ve seen first-hand the incredible work the Foundation does to support young, aspiring golfers. Golf is for everyone, whatever their starting point, and I’m proud to support the Foundation and its initiatives as they help the sport grow in an inclusive and inspiring way.”
Brendon Pyle, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Oli as a Golf Foundation Ambassador. His journey in the game, his commitment to developing young people, and his leadership at Centurion Club perfectly reflect our values. Oli understands first-hand how golf can shape lives, and we are excited to work with him to extend that impact nationwide.”
