2.54pm 1st May 2015 - Growing the Game

Marriott Family Golf FestivalGolfers of all ages and abilities are invited to join their family members and experience the true meaning of ‘togetherness on the links’, as Marriott Golf this week announced the schedule for the 8th Annual Marriott International Family Golf Festival.

A series of one-day family golf-themed events, which will take place at 26 leading Marriott Golf-managed destinations throughout the world, the Marriott International Family Golf Festival program will tee-off in the U.S. at Crane’s Landing Golf Club in Lincolnshire, IL on Saturday, May 2, 2015.

The Marriott International Family Golf Festival is open to golfers of all ages and skill levels, and aligns with Marriott’s commitment to player development programs for families, women and juniors.

Highlighting the events, families are invited to Marriott Golf properties for a fun-filled afternoon of FREE golf instruction, clinics, exciting activities, interactive golf games, family golf programs, prize giveaways and much more. Supervised by PGA Professionals, each respective venue offers a welcoming environment where women, children, siblings, parents and grandparents can learn and play the game together. Each year, thousands of families take part in this exciting program.

“Both avid golfers and newcomers to the game have participated at these events, and it’s an absolute treat to watch a family enjoy the great outdoors, while teeing-it-up together,” said Jim Keane, Senior Director of Operations, Marriott Golf. “The feedback we continue to receive about our Family Golf Festival program is fantastic, and we are thrilled to once again host a full schedule of events throughout the year.”

In addition, after 3 p.m., families and children can play golf for free as part of Marriott Golf’s “Kids Golf-4-Free” program, in which an estimated 10,000 parents and children participate each year. Launched in 2006, “Kids Golf-4-Free” enables kids up to 15-years old to golf for free when accompanied by a full paying adult after 3 p.m. In addition, Marriott Golf offers free lessons anytime to kids up to 15-years old when accompanied by an adult who is taking a fully paid lesson from a Marriott Golf instructor.
