Golf It! to temporarily close driving range to carry out essential repairs

A combination of heavy rain and heavy usage has forced the new Golf It! venue in Glasgow to temporarily close its driving range in order to carry out repair work on the outfield.

Since opening at the beginning of August, over two million balls have been hit at the range in just eight weeks, and coupled with the recent wet weather, meant the grounds in front of the range had begun to deteriorate. This section of the facility is expected to be closed for around six weeks from October 23, while a shorter closure will also begin on October 7.

Posting about the need to carry out these essential repairs, Golf It! general manager Russ Smith said: “Golf It! has proved so popular that we have seen tens of thousands of visitors already come through the doors in just a short period of time. We have experienced this significant volume of traffic during recent adverse weather and due to the high number of balls hit and collected in such a short period of time, we have seen the ground conditions of the driving range outfield deteriorate.

“We are moving quickly to immediately address this situation and will be upgrading the outfield of the driving range as a matter of priority – customer experience is at the heart of Golf It! so we want our facilities to be the very best.”

All other Golf It! facilities – Park Golf, Adventure Golf, the Games Room, Simulator and Big Feed bar and food service – will remain open, but will operate with altered opening hours.
