The Golf Foundation is now teeing up a great idea for fundraising thanks to Teeofftimes.co.uk. With the support of this leading online tee-time booking provider, the Foundation is set to receive donated green fees from selected golf clubs starting in April, 2014.

Teeofftimes.co.uk is the Golf Foundation’s new ‘Official Tee-Time Booking Partner’ and last summer offered to help the leading golf charity to raise awareness and funds with the support of its network of golf club customers.

With this April date in place, selected golf clubs are now being asked by the Golf Foundation to donate funds raised from the sale of four golf course green fees, collected by the Teeofftimes.co.uk team. Teeofftimes.co.uk will also be donating all of the commission from the sale of these tee times directly to the Foundation’s ‘HSBC Golf Roots’ programme.

A total of 150 out of 350 golf clubs which are HSBC Golf Roots Centres are being approached directly by the Golf Foundation team to launch the scheme in April 2014.

Money raised will support the charity’s work in making the game more accessible to children from all backgrounds and circumstances. The Golf Foundation’s HSBC Golf Roots strategy grows the game in schools and communities and then encourages more young people into the club environment where, through the PGA-endorsed Junior Golf Passport, they are coached by PGA Pro’s to be ready for regular play.

Richard Barker, General Manager of Teeofftimes.co.uk, said: “Teeofftimes.co.uk and the Golf Foundation understand that there is great goodwill and support at so many golf clubs for new, young golfers. Club members want to help. We now ask them to support this cause through the donation of tee times starting in April and we think some great funds can be raised while also spreading awareness of the work of the Golf Foundation.”

Richard added: “We at Teeofftimes.co.uk support the Golf Foundation because of the drive of the charity’s team to give children and young people the opportunity to experience golf and the benefits it has to offer, and also because of the inclusive nature of the charity’s programmes. As a company, we really wanted to put something back into the game.”

Mike Round, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, said: “This fundraising project is straightforward for those who take part and also exciting for the clubs involved, thanks to the innovative reach and influence of Teeofftimes.co.uk in the tee booking sector.

“The team at Teeofftimes.co.uk clearly recognises through its work with golf clubs and golfers it is vital that the whole industry keeps the sport healthy for the future. The company should be very much commended and we hope other golf companies can follow this lead and help many more youngsters to enjoy golf in the years ahead.”

Golf clubs who would like to find out more about how they can become involved at a local level with the Golf Foundation can contact one of seven Regional Development Officers through the ‘Contact Us’ button at www.golf-foundation.org

The fundraising project is aimed at existing Teeofftimes.co.uk customers for ease of administration in donating tee times. Golf clubs wishing to find out more about the company’s services can contact General Manager Richard Barker on 07793 775207, or email RBarker@teeofftimes.co.uk
