QHotels, the UK’s largest golf resort operator, is leading the drive to find the game’s next generation of stars after announcing free memberships for juniors at all 11 of its UK venues as part of its new QFairway club – the country’s most flexible golf membership.

Providing access to 15 courses across England and Scotland, the ground-breaking initiative is offering a wide array of benefits to youngsters eager to follow the example of world number one Rory McIlroy and become a Major champion.

Available to children aged 15 and under, all juniors will receive a free membership when they sign up to the enterprising new club, providing their parent or guardian also has adult membership at the same time.

Q Hotels – the AA Hotel Group of the Year – will also present each youngster with a complimentary seven-iron from the MKids range when they join to practice their skills, thanks to its partnership with The Masters Golf Company.

And juniors and parents keen to ‘test drive’ the innovative membership for themselves have the chance to do so later this month by enjoying a round of golf on open days at five QHotels resorts on March 26 and 29.

The opportunity to experience the unique QFairway will take place at Aldwark Manor Golf & Spa Hotel, near York; Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort, north Lincolnshire; Hellidon Lakes Golf & Spa Hotel, Daventry, Northamptonshire; Telford Hotel & Golf Resort, Shropshire; and the Westerwood Hotel & Golf Resort, near Glasgow. Complimentary practice range balls, with a free ‘swing and grip check’, will be available before the round, with food and drinks in the bar afterwards.

John Angus, QHotels’ group director of golf, said: “Juniors are the lifeblood of the game and it’s vital for the long-term future of golf that they are given the best chance possible to play and develop.

“It’s our aim at QHotels to encourage as many people as possible to play, whatever their age, and it would be lovely to think that in 20 years’ time, someone is in contention to win a Major as a direct result  of the new QFairway membership initiative. ”

Launched this spring, QHotels’ new QFairway club offers golfers the chance to enjoy up to 50 rounds of golf for only £375.

QHotels – which includes such prestigious venues as The Carrick at Cameron House, Slaley Hall and Forest Pines in its portfolio – believes QFairway ushers in a new era of membership designed by and for the 21st century golfer.

The QFairway flexible points-based membership gives players all the benefits of a traditional club membership – including the facility to hold a handicap and playing rights for club competitions – while offering discount on food and drink, shop purchases, tuition, hotel bed-and-breakfast rates, and, most impressively, access to all of QHotels’ 15 golf courses.

Points may be used for golf, leisure club and spa facilities (where applicable), the driving range and even on buggy hire – all whenever and wherever the member requires. What’s more, unlike traditional golf club memberships, there is no joining fee, meaning that for a relatively small outlay keen nomadic golfers can now achieve their dream of belonging to a club, with all the friendly social benefits that entails.

There is an even better value option at selected hotels, where for just £295 players can enjoy golf at their chosen home club only.

The multi-award-winning, four and five-star QHotels collection offers championship-standard courses in unique resort locations – and now it also provides the perfect membership package for all golfers.
