Faldo Futures seeks venues for 2025 series

9.11am 27th August 2024 - Growing the Game

As the 2024 Faldo Futures comes to its exciting conclusion at The Belfry during The British Masters this week, the registration for clubs in Great Britain and Ireland to host a qualifier in 2025 has opened.

Entries have been flooding in for the 2025 Faldo Futures, with clubs registering to host qualifying events during the Easter school holidays in April next year.

The initiative, aimed at girls and boys aged 7 to 12 years old, offers PGA Pros and golf clubs the opportunity to showcase their club and attract new family memberships and junior golfers, along with providing that fun first step into competitive golf.

Faldo Futures partners include The R&A, England Golf, DP World Tour, Golf Foundation and the PGA, all of whom are supporting the initiative with the same intention of growing the game.

With over 1,000 children participating in its pilot year in 2024, the mission for 2025 is to open the event up to any golf club that wants to showcase themselves to junior golf and any child who wants to have a go.

Golf clubs from every sector of the industry are already on board, including municipal, private member, proprietary, and short courses, along with resort courses and multi-site operators such as The Club Company, Crown Golf and Maple Leaf, which have, between them, committed a cumulative 26 clubs to participate in 2025.

The Faldo Futures is a part of Sir Nick Faldo’s charitable trust, The Faldo Series, that has been providing a platform for junior golfers across the world for nearly 30 years.  As part of the Faldo Series, The Faldo Grant provides opportunities for players, clubs and federations to participate.  The Faldo Grant is very much open to the Faldo Futures clubs and players, as they try to offer the event to every golf club and 7-12 year old sin the GB&I.

This first year of The Faldo Futures is reaching its conclusion, following qualifying at over 50 golf clubs, Six regional finals saw over 1,250 rounds played, while the Faldo Futures Final is being staged at The Belfry during the British Masters week on August 28, where 144 junior golfers will compete for the title of Faldo Futures Champion and be presented with their prizes by Sir Nick.

Winners in each age category will also receive an invitation to the IMG Junior World Finals held at Torrey Pines South in California, USA.
