Faldo Futures Builds Up To The Belfry Grand Final

5.23pm 25th July 2024 - Growing the Game

The Faldo Futures is building up to the UK grand final, being staged at The Belfry on Wednesday 28th August. The event is being held during DP Word Tour British Masters week, hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.

Qualifying events took place back in April at over 50 golf clubs with in-excess of 1,000 participants, all aged between 7 and 12 years old. The top 3 winners from each age and gender group progressed to Regional Finals, held at 6 premier golf venues around the UK, with the grand final field of 144 now preparing to compete at The Belfry.

The individual winner from each age category, in addition to being crowned winners of the inaugural Faldo Futures series, will receive an invitation to the IMG Junior World Finals to be held at Torrey Pines South in California, USA.

Commenting on the forthcoming finals, Matthew Faldo said, “We’re really looking forward to the finals at The Belfry and watching the field compete to win this first Faldo Futures series. It’s been a huge success and certainly exceeded our expectations.

“Golf clubs across the width and breadth of the country got involved and welcomed junior players to their venues. We’ve seen so many great photos of smiling, happy children – getting a really positive taste of competition golf.”

Thoughts are already turning to 2025, with entry now open for golf clubs wishing to stage a qualifying event and become a ‘Faldo Futures Venue’. It’s an opportunity to showcase the club to young people and families, with support from Faldo Futures through a digital promotion pack, listing on the Faldo website and prizes.
