England Golf has announced the appointment of Dame Denise Lewis as an ambassador, with the 2000 Olympic heptathlon gold medalist joining forces with the organisation to inspire a new generation of golfers and support the launch of a ground-breaking new initiative – ‘Game Changers’.
As an ambassador, Dame Denise will play a leading role in helping to drive greater visibility, diversity and engagement across the game.
The Game Changers campaign is part of England Golf’s wider strategic vision for 2025–2030 and will bring together influential individuals who are committed to showcasing golf as a safe, inclusive, sustainable, and inspirational sport. The initiative aims to challenge outdated perceptions of the game and highlight its many physical, mental and social benefits.

“I’m thrilled to be joining England Golf as an ambassador,” said Dame Denise Lewis. “Golf has so much to offer — from its positive impact on wellbeing to its ability to bring people together. I’m excited to help open the sport up to new audiences and share the message that golf truly is a game for everyone.”
Dame Denise’s passion for health, sport, and social impact aligns with England Golf’s mission to break down barriers and ensure that golf is accessible, welcoming, and relevant to people from all backgrounds.
England Golf Chief Executive Officer, Jeremy Tomlinson, welcomed Dame Denise to the team: “We are honoured to have Dame Denise on board as an Ambassador. Her incredible career, authenticity, and commitment to making a difference, make her a perfect fit for our new Game Changers initiative. Together, we hope to inspire more people to pick up a club, enjoy the game, and see that golf really is for everyone.”
Dame Denise will be joined by a select group of individuals, each chosen for their passion, values, and influence. Together, they will support and endorse key England Golf programmes and initiatives, helping to shape future participation in golf.
