adidas Golf is excited to announce a multi-year sponsorship of the Wee Wonders golf series, with the partnership helping to grow the game of golf in the UK by hosting competitive events for future stars of the sport.
The market leading brand will support the ‘adidas Golf Wee Wonders, in association with TaylorMade and Adams Golf’. Specific funding for the events will both raise the profile and expand the reach of the current Wee Wonders Open Golf Championship which was set up by PGA Professional Alasdair Good in 1995.
Since its launch, Wee Wonders has been instrumental in providing competitive golf to youngsters around the UK. In 2015 there will be fifteen regional qualifiers throughout the country with the final of the 2015 event being held at St Andrews, Scotland, allowing the finalists to test their game at The Home of Golf.
On the partnership, David Silvers, Managing Director, TaylorMade-adidas Golf EMEA, said, “The challenges that golf faces in encouraging new people into the game are well documented. Wee Wonders is a proven vehicle to get young people playing our beautiful game in a competitive but fun environment. We are delighted to be supporting the event and look forward to helping provide a platform to raise awareness and participation in the adidas Golf Wee Wonders events this year and beyond.”
Wee Wonders Founder Alasdair Good added, “It is fantastic news that adidas Golf, TaylorMade and Adams have agreed to sponsor Wee Wonders from 2015 onwards. We had another successful schedule of events in 2014 and I am confident that in partnership with these three great brands we will engage with thousands more new and up and coming junior golfers over the coming years”.
For TaylorMade-adidas Golf, the sponsorship of Wee Wonders forms part of a series of UK based initiatives that the market leading company is supporting to help grow the game.
