The Els Club Vilamoura has named Toro as its exclusive supplier of turf maintenance equipment and irrigation systems ahead of its scheduled opening this summer.

Partnering with Irrimac, Toro’s local distributor in Portugal, this agreement combines cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and expertise to support the opening of the Algarve’s first private members’ golf club.

Designed by four-time Major winner Ernie Els, the new private club carrying his name is set to redefine the golfing experience in the Algarve setting a new benchmark for luxury and hospitality.

In this exclusive partnership, Toro will provide a comprehensive support package with regular ongoing inspections to guarantee the quality of its course maintenance equipment which will include GREENSMASTER eTriFlex 3370 and REELMASTER fairway mowers, and WORKMAN MDX Lithium-Ion utility vehicles.

Greenstaff will also benefit from certified on-site technical training, ensuring the highest standards of course maintenance, while advanced connectivity technology will enable hardware and software tracking for the entire fleet of equipment, maximising operational efficiency.

Nuno Sepulveda, Co-CEO of DETAILS, the management company overseeing Els Club Vilamoura, said: “We are committed to creating a leading golf experience in the Algarve. Partnering with Toro and Irrimac ensures we are equipped with the tools and technologies to maintain our world-class standards while prioritising sustainability and innovation.”

“In the heart of the Algarve, a masterpiece is being created that showcases DETAILS’ aim to elevate the prestigious Portuguese golf market,” added Andy Brown, Toro’s Senior Manager, Global Business Development & Relationships. “Innovation, efficiency, and aftermarket support are the main reasons Toro has been chosen. We are honoured to play our part to help maintain the Els Club Vilamoura, DETAILS’ flagship golf course.”

Henrique Duarte (General Manager at Irrimac Lda), Nuno Sepúlveda, CO-CEO of DETAILS, Teodor Denchev, Senior Sales Manager, Equipment Business Europe, Middle East & Africa, The Toro Company, and Arturo Morán (Sales Manager for Commercial Equipment in Southern Europe, South Africa, and Benelux – The Toro Company)

Arturo Moran, Toro’s regional business manager for Southern Europe, added: “It’s a privilege to collaborate on such a prestigious project. Our cutting-edge equipment is perfectly suited to support The Els Club Vilamoura in achieving its vision of sustainability and excellence. Toro’s Greensmaster eTriflex, Reelmaster Fairway mowers, and Workman MDX Lithium are integral to maintaining the course’s exceptional quality.”

Henrique Duarte, General Manager at Irrimac, commented: “Over the last 30 years, Irrimac has played a key role in Portugal’s national golf industry by providing irrigation systems, a full range of machinery for golf course maintenance, as well as training, technical assistance, and consultancy services. Being part of such an innovative and technologically advanced project, which is also strategically significant for Portuguese golf, is the ultimate recognition for our years of dedication.”

Sustainability will play a big role in the collaboration. Sponsored by Toro and Irrimac, solar panels are set to be installed, providing clean energy to recharge the electric equipment used on the course.   This initiative, paired with the provision of electric handheld tools such as mowers and rapid chargers, underscores the commitment to environmental stewardship.
