The UK Golf Show is now Closed

8.20am 14th March 2007 - Exhibitions & Conferences

BLAIR Events & Entertainment Ltd, owner of The UK Golf Show ®, has ceased trading as of Friday 9th March 2007. The 2007 Show planned at the NEC for 30th November to 2nd December has been cancelled.

Over 14,500 golf enthusiasts were reported at the NEC for the first UK Golf Show – a the three-day event held from 24th to 26th November last year and at the time organisers were optimistic for the future of the event.

“The show had a great turn out and people were impressed with the layout and the range of products and services available,” said a spokesman. “Feedback from the exhibitors has been extremely positive with many of the leading manufacturers running low on stock due to the public demand. This response has given us a great foundation for developing the show for 2007.”

Less than four months later and the picture is very different with the show’s website carrying this announcement:

Our efforts to bring a public Golf Show to the Midlands albeit very successfully in terms of the actual exhibition, proved too costly when attempting to overcome the scepticism and doubt of such a political entity.

I would personally like to thank the manufacturers, The Belfry and the 2006 exhibitors for supporting us however without any major backing I can no longer meet the costs and stringent criteria imposed by the venue and the show budget.
