Something for everyone at Harrogate Week

12.20am 18th November 2005 - Exhibitions & Conferences

In a bid to simplify a week which contains so much for everyone in the fine turf industry the decision was taken to provide an umbrella title for the vast number of events which occur during the busiest six days of the year. Two exhibitions – BTME and ClubHouse; the Continue to Learn education programme; R&A Seminar, AGM, and numerous fringe events, together with the fact that the north Yorkshire town is synonymous with BIGGA, meant that naming it ‘Harrogate Week’ seemed the natural option.
The Continue to Learn education programme more than doubles the educational opportunities on offer than ever before. With over 130 hours of education is available for industry professionals at every stage of their careers on a wide range of topics there is genuinely something for everyone.
The programme, supported by The Greenkeepers Training Committee (GTC), is aimed at greenkeepers, groundsmen, supervisors, course managers, secretaries, club managers, golf club officials and others working in the turf industry and will include two-day workshops, one-day workshops, half-day workshops and seminars.
BTME & ClubHouse expands year on year to reflect the immense diversity of machinery, products and services required by the professional greenkeeper and golf course secretary to stay ahead of the game. As the exhibition grows in stature so does the audience. Visitors from local authorities, parks and gardens, football, rugby, and cricket clubs wander through the exhibition halls alongside the groundsmen from castles, theme parks and racecourses.
The next exhibition will be the biggest yet. It will occupy over 9,000 square metres of floor space at Harrogate International Centre with around 250 exhibitors spread across the full range of interests. BTME has steadily grown and become established as the largest indoor turf exhibition in Europe and with the addition of ClubHouse to the stable a one stop shop has been created for sports clubs from turf management to locker rooms.
