From the largest course redevelopment plan ever seen in the United Kingdom to a televised golf event on Somerset’s north coast, BIGGA is proud to reveal the finalists of the BIGGA Awards 2022.
The BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) will be taking place in Harrogate next week for the first time since 2020 after being postponed from its traditional January date due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
One of the highlights of BTME each year is the BIGGA Welcome Celebration, sponsored in 2022 for the first time by AMS Robotics. Taking place on the opening night of BTME and hosted by respected journalist and golf enthusiast Naga Munchetty, the BIGGA Welcome Celebration will reveal the winners of the prestigious BIGGA Awards 2022.
With next week’s BTME being the first to take place since January 2020, prior to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, these awards have gained added significance. BIGGA and the awards sponsors are therefore proud to introduce the finalists of two awards categories, with the winner of the third to be revealed on the night itself.
BIGGA Chief Executive Officer Jim Croxton said: “After everything we have overcome in the past two years, there has perhaps never been a more important year to recognise the achievements of BIGGA members and those who are doing outstanding work in the community to support their colleagues and the wider industry. For that reason I am delighted that we are today able to announce six worthy finalists of the annual BIGGA Awards, with another surprise winner to be announced on the evening itself.
“Thank you to everyone who nominated a BIGGA member or team of greenkeepers this year and I look forward to seeing each of the finalists at the BIGGA Welcome Celebration in Harrogate for what promises to be a fantastic opening to what will be a unique BTME experience.”
