Retief Goosen and Ian Poulter are the latest big names to be added to the cast of Golf LIVE, the exciting new interactive golf event to be staged at Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire, from 14-16 May 2010.

Two-time major winner Goosen and Poulter, winner of the recent Barclays Singapore Open will team up with Event Ambassador, Colin Montgomerie, and Ryder Cup star, Paul Casey, whose involvement was announced when Golf LIVE was launched to considerable acclaim in mid-September. The signing of Poulter is a particular coup for the organisers as Golf LIVE will mark his first appearance in England since the 2008 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

They will be joined by several other leading Tour golfers, many of the UK’s leading celebrities and an impressive group of leading coaches and mental game gurus in an event that offers amateur golfers of all abilities the chance to watch, listen and learn in a manner never offered before. Golf LIVE was created by Brand Events, in conjunction with the International Management Group (IMG), and it hopes to use the experience it has gleaned in staging successful public shows like Top Gear Live and The Taste Festivals to create a multi-faceted outdoor golf event which offers a day out no visitor will ever forget.

“We are delighted that Retief and Ian have agreed to take part in Golf LIVE. For us to have a major champion (Goosen) allocating time in his 2010 schedule really shows the belief in the Golf LIVE concept,” said Event Director, James Goode.

“Both will play a prominent role in the activities we have organised and are looking forward to passing on some of the tricks of the trade they have learned during their impressive careers at the top of the game.”

Golf LIVE is a totally new concept which enables members of the public to interact with Tour players, celebrities and coaches as well as to discover and buy from a wide range of golf related products found in the event’s main Exhibition Area, to be called “The Hub”.

Brand Events staff are currently selling a wide range of packages in The Hub to interested manufacturers, accessory suppliers, fashion and lifestyle companies, resorts and travel operators. Its aim is to make time spent at The Hub into a more interactive experience than found at a traditional Golf Show. To that end, the in-house team at Golf LIVE will work with their clients to provide the needed space and facilities whilst also the developing a series of mini-events to maximise footfall in the area

The Hub is to be the centre point of many elements to Golf LIVE and it is this variety which its creators see as the event’s unique selling point.

“Golf LIVE will present a 360-degree view of the golfing world, from the latest products of the leading manufacturers to insightful hints and tips from golf’s best players, coaches and sports psychologists,” said Goode.

“We’ve worked extremely hard to provide members of the public with a wide range of different attractions and it is this extensive choice of things to do which will help Golf LIVE to transcend traditional Golf Shows and to make it an altogether more satisfying experience.”

There will be opportunities to sign up for lessons at the Golf Academy, the Short Game Theatre and the Putting Theatre and visitors can also drop by the Tee Box Theatre, where the assembled Tour stars will be offering advice on the mental game,  or even compete for a wide range of exciting prizes in the Competition Zone.

Each of the three days concludes with a Grand Finale, when Montgomerie, Casey, Goosen, Poulter and other leading players and celebrities will provide a fitting end to a sparkling day.

Tickets for Golf LIVE will go on sale in February 2010 priced at £45 for a standard daily ticket and at £250 for the Corporate and Hospitality package. A maximum of 4,000 tickets will be released each day and will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Media partners for Golf LIVE are the Daily Telegraph and Bauer Consumer Media, publishers of both Today’s Golfer and Golf World magazines. All three will be providing extensive space to promote the event to members of the public.
